December's Festive Diary!

Wincanton kicks off the Christmas season on Friday 2nd December with an additional Christmas craft fair alongside the farmers market with a range of hand crafted gifts including Sculptures paintings and crafts. We are also welcoming the Guardians 'Country Diary' writer John Vallins who will be signing copies of his book which is a compilation of his articles from over the last 20 years - a perfect gift!

Midsomer Norton has its final market of the year on December 3rd and will be going out on a song- Christmas Carols to be precise, with the hugely popular Midsomer Voices 'Decking the Hall with Boughs of Holly' & possibly dressed as a host of Heavenly Angels!

Axbridge also meets on the 3rd but this year is again holding an additional market on Sunday 18th December from 10am-2pm after last year's trial run proved such a success -even in 10 inches of snow!

Keynsham 's Christmas market on 10th will provide opportunities to stock up on gifts and pre-order turkeys from Chewton farm for collection nearer the day .

Frome is hosting two December markets one on Saturday December 10th then the annual 'Evening Event' which has taken on legendary status. This year it is Thursday 22nd December 5pm -7.30pm and it is wise to pre-order poultry for collection (see the web-site for producers details)

Yeovil is also holding a Christmas Farmers Market on Sunday 18th 10am-2pm while Burnham and Glastonbury are holding events nearer the holiday season on Friday 23rd & Saturday 24th for those last minute brussels sprouts and fresh produce.

A final mention about Wells, twice crowned 'Best Farmers Market' in Somerset in this its 10th Anniversary year most recently by Somerset Life Magazine last month.

It takes place every Wednesday 9am-2.30pm so throughout December there are weekly opportunities to stock up for the festivities!
