April 13th saw the Mill on the Brue hosting the annual awards which are kindly sponsored and organised by Blackmore Media Publishing.
Many of our Farmers Markets and Producers had been shortlisted.
Shortlisted for the Best Somerset Farmers Market were Wells, Midsomer Norton and Frome and after the judge Micheal Eavis took a visit to each venue decided to give the award to reigning champion Frome.
He particularly liked the range of choice especially the cheese , and the more unusual meats on sale!
The Cheese & Grain Venue & cafe also recived a mention as providing a large airy and dry space....needless to say it had rained during his visit to Wells and Midsomer Norton.
Incidently Frome was also chosen as the Best Food Town!
Well done to Farmers Markt Favourites West country Water Buffalo who took the coverted best meat Producer . Runners up in the dairy section were Wootton Organic Dairy and Olive Farm Dairy and in the Drinks North Perrott Fruit farm for their range of juices.
