Mendip Lavender

Having moved back to Somerset we were delighted when the opportunity to evolve Mendip Lavender arose. We had always loved visiting the lavender field on the Mendip Hills little realising that one day it would be ours.

All our plants are grown without any chemical intervention or fertilisers, we even harvest by hand. This ensures a complementary relationship with nature and our many wild neighbours, such as hares, deer and many insects.

We grow five types of lavender, each has very distinctive properties, aroma and appearance. Four are Lavandula angustifolia, Twickel Purple’, ‘Imperial Gem’, ‘Hidcote’, ‘Folgate’ and one Lavandula x intermedia ‘Grosso’.

We distil the flowers ourselves enabling us to leave the shortest time possible between harvest and oil production. Thus preserving the integrity of the oil and ensuring it is of the highest possible therapeutic quality. Once matured the oil is blended into our products.
