Festive Farmers’ Markets this week

Wells on Wednesday 3rd December is the first stop on our Advent calendar of farmers’ markets and will be held each week including  a great bumper market on Christmas Eve.

On Saturday 6th December, 9am to 1pm, by the Christmas tree in Hollies Gardens, the Midsomer Norton Farmers’ Market will be celebrating the start of the festive season in style.  Always a great atmosphere, the addition of the Midsomer Norton & Radstock Silver Band playing Christmas carols will be the icing on the Christmas cake for the market which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year. The Christmas tombola will ensure lots of customers go home with a special locally produced prize.

Across the Mendips in historic Axbridge, the town will be holding the first of its two festive farmers’ markets with 25+ stalls and a marvellous range of produce from pea shoots and micro greens to local honey, vegetarian savouries to organic artisan cheeses, Aberdeen Angus beef to hot roast lamb rolls – and lots more.  The Square will be decorated in traditional Axbridge style and the Axbridge Museum in King John’s Hunting Lodge wil be open for business.  The extra market will be on Sunday 21st December – perfect for collecting fresh produce for the Christmas period.

On Sunday 7th December we’ll be up early again and getting festive at the Frome Independent where we have a farmers’ market section in the middle of the town. Frome will be giving itself a whole town Christmas makeover from 9am to 3pm.
