Bath Blue Cheese is the champion

Bath Blue Cheese made by the Bath Soft Cheese Company has been named the world’s tastiest, beating off competition from more than 2,700 global varieties. 

Bath Blue was yesterday declared this year’s champion in the World Cheese Awards at the Olympia in Kensington, the largest cheese competition on the planet.  Around 250 judges and experts worked in teams of four to find cheeses that made it on to the shortlist.  The winner, described by the maker as a “classic blue veined cheese”,  is made from the milk of its own organic cows.  It is ripened in a traditional stone-built room for eight to ten weeks to give it a creamy taste.
